  2. What are the system requirements for Shepherd’s Staff?
    Required:
    • Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and .NET framework 4.0
    • Pentium III processor or equivalent
    • 1GB RAM
    • 500MB hard drive
    • 1024x768 minimum graphics resolution

    Recommended:
    • Windows 7, 8, 10, or later (64- or 32-bit)
    • 1GHz dual-core processor or faster
    • 4GB RAM
    • 120GB hard drive or larger

  3. Is Shepherd’s Staff network ready?
    Yes, our program can be networked right out of the box. Since the release of Shepherd's Staff 2007, all licenses include unlimited use within the same church.
  4. Do you offer a free trial of Shepherd’s Staff?
    We offer a full working demonstration version of our software that allows you to view all of the features of the full version. We have even included sample data to give you real world examples. You can download the trial or call 1.800.325.2399 to request a trial CD.
  5. Does Shepherd’s Staff offer any security features?
    Yes. It offers as much or as little as you need. You can restrict user access to an entire module or to specific functions within a module.
  6. Can I use Shepherd’s Staff to email members or groups within our church?
    Shepherd’s Staff makes it easy to email individuals, specific groups, or the entire congregation. You can even attach reports so your officers and board members can keep up to date. Shepherd’s Staff also works with Church360° Unite to provide a complete church management and communication package for your church.
  7. Can I export my data from Shepherd’s Staff?
    Yes. You can export information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers with the export utility.
  8. Can Shepherd’s Staff help me with our church photo directory?
    Yes. We have an export utility that is compatible with all major photo directory companies. You can also create and print your own photo directory.
  9. Some of our staff prefer to work at home. Can Shepherd’s Staff accommodate this?
    Yes. In fact, many functions within the program are designed specifically for that purpose. The Finance module works independently from all other modules so all of the functions contained within it can be done from a remote location, then imported to the main database. The same can be done with attendance and offering batches.
  10. What about record keeping for families with different last names?
    Shepherd’s Staff is designed to accommodate blended families. Our software makes it easy to keep track of separate last names, alternate addresses, and phone numbers.
  11. Can Shepherd’s Staff handle payroll preparation?
    Yes. By linking with Paychex, you can easily manage your payroll and be certain you are using the most up-to-date withholding and tax figures from the payroll software experts. To learn more, visit our Paychex integration page.
  12. We have a small congregation. Is our church too small for Shepherd’s Staff?
    Our software is currently being in used in churches with less than 50 members as well as in churches with membership exceeding 10,000. We recognize the limited financial resources of many small churches, missions, and start-up congregations, and that’s why we offer a Small Church Edition at a low price—to help smaller congregations meet their needs affordably.
  13. Can you track tuition payments in Shepherd’s Staff?
    You can record income from a day school or day care program in the Finance module, but you cannot track tuition payments for individual students.
  14. How often do you release upgrades for Shepherd's Staff?
    We release new versions of Shepherd's Staff on an annual basis. Periodically, we will also release service packs and/or feature packs.
  15. Can our current data be converted to Shepherd’s Staff?
    You can convert membership data such as names, addresses, dates, etc. to Shepherd’s Staff. We also offer a data conversion service for a small fee. Please call 1.800.325.2399 for more details.
  16. Do you offer training for Shepherd’s Staff?
    Yes. We offer many training options to help you get the most out of your software, including training seminars in St. Louis, manuals, webinars, and videos.
