Fall 2025 Updates: Multi-Factor Authentication and Other Security Improvements

Unite-Blog-11-25

Security is of utmost importance to us at Church360°. We are always working to make continuous improvements to keep your data safe! This month, Church360° Unite joins Church360° Members and Church360° Ledger in implementing multi-factor authentication. Keep reading to learn about this and other improvements made this fall.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Unite-MFA

You’ve likely encountered MFA before. Essentially, it is a method of confirming your identity in a second (or third, etc.) place upon logging in to an account to confirm that it’s you. Along with its sister software in the Church360° Suite, Church360° Unite will now require MFA when logging in.

While Passkeys provide the utmost MFA security, this update adds a critical level of protection for your account.

What This Means for Your Church

All logins used for Church360° Unite will require multi-factor authentication. An email will be sent to the email address associated with your log-in with a one-time code that will need to be entered to log in to your site. The minor inconvenience of verifying your identity prevents you from facing the major inconvenience of a malicious actor accessing your church’s data!

This MFA requirement applies to anyone logging into Church360° Unite, whether church administrator or congregant. This is an example of why it’s important to retain access to email addresses with which you’ve associated accounts.

Additional Updates

Google Calendar Event Integration

Unite-Google-CalendarIn addition to these security measures, we’re excited to roll out some new features this fall. Now, you can include events from your Google Calendar in Church360° Unite! This will involve allowing Church360° Unite to access your Google Calendar, verifying your settings, and choosing which calendars to show.

Some quick considerations: this integration is not two-way, meaning that you cannot edit Google Calendar events from within Church360° Unite. Also, your Google Calendars have to be marked as public to be shown on the Church360° Unite calendar list.

In essence, this update helps you better account for your calendar. Don’t worry about punching in the same events in multiple places.

Managing Files and Other Uploaded Assets

Lastly, this update has added protections to any file uploaded to your site (also known as assets uploaded to your site). Because you want to ensure that only the intended individuals have access to files—and that unused files don’t take up space—we’ve made some improvements to file security and cleanup.

Church360° Unite protects your assets by restricting access based on the visibility of the page where the asset was originally uploaded. Even if an asset is linked elsewhere—on another page or outside your website—its visibility remains tied to the original page’s settings.

To help manage storage, Church360° Unite automatically flags assets for deletion if they are removed from a page. These flagged assets will display a ! symbol in the “Assets uploaded to this page” section of the upload window. If the asset is not re-added to a page within 90 days, it will be permanently deleted from your site.

We hope this update provides additional peace of mind and ease of use in the software! For more information on navigating these updates,  check out articles in the Church360° Unite Help Center.
