When communicating with people via voice, text, or email in the Church360° Members Communications Module, you choose who you want to include or exclude in the communication using Smart Groups or tags, individual person records, or custom groups. Now, in the Communications view, you will see a section called Audience to curate your recipients.
Choosing Your Audience
Choosing your audience is simple. To start, click “Add filter” to begin a new line and use the drop-down menus to choose whether to include or exclude chosen records and select groups, individual records, or traits.
Understanding Segmentation
- Groups include saved Smart Groups and tags from the People view.
- People includes individuals from a list of all person records in the People view.
- Custom Groups allow you to choose specific traits for person records in the People view.
Finalizing Your Audience
Once you’re pleased with the selection of contacts for your communications, click “Done” and return to the Audience view, where you will see a number for People in this audience, Emails selected, and People without an email address selected. By default, only one email per contact will receive the correspondence.

While communications via text, voice, or email have been a staple in Church360° Members in the communications module, this update helps you more easily curate your intended recipients. There is no quicker way to get people to tune out from your communications than to spam them with information that isn’t relevant to them, so fine-tune your audience for various communications to get your messages to those who really need them!
