We’ve added a variety of new updates to Smart Groups in Church360° Members. We hope that these added Smart Group features will help you to communicate with your congregation more efficiently and identify pastoral needs more clearly.

Prevention of Smart Groups with Duplicate Names

In order help keep smart groups organized, we've added a feature that prevents you from naming custom smart groups after built-in smart groups. Once you have your group criteria set, click on the Save Group button and enter your desired group name. If the group name already exists, a red box will appear on the top, right portion your screen that says “Name has already been taken”.

People With and Without Phone Numbers or E-mails

Have you ever wanted to create a list that only contains people who have an e-mail address? Or maybe a list of people who do not have an e-mail address? Now you can, simply by using Smart Groups! Just set your criteria to include people with or without e-mail addresses. This feature also can be used to find people with and without phone numbers. Once your Smart Group is just the way you like it, make sure to save for future use.

Undeliverable E-mails

We've also made it easier to identify which e-mails addresses are undeliverable by using smart groups. Simply set the criteria to be people who have any undeliverable e-mail address at all. Save the group and next time you are ready to see the list, you can select the group from your drop-down list of smart groups.

In addition, we've added a feature that makes it easy to see which email addresses are undeliverable, even when you are not in the smart group. Within any view a small, alert symbol    will appear next to any undeliverable e-mail to let you know that the address is not valid.

Married and Wedding Traits

Married and wedding traits have also been updated to help provide clarity when generating lists of married people in your congregation. You will now be able to filter people by wedding date for a given time frame. We've also added a new married trait to indicate whether or not people are currently married. Use both these filters together to generate a list of wedding anniversaries for every month.

Divorced Trait

There is now a trait to identify people in your congregation who may be divorced. Set the criteria to people who were divorced ever in order to see a complete list of those who may be divorced in your congregation. You may also change the criteria to see people who were divorced within a certain date range.

We hope this feature will be beneficial as you identify people in your congregation who may need pastoral care and comfort. You may also use to wish these lists to identify lay leaders for a divorced care ministry or support group.
