The Reminders tool allows you to flag events and be reminded of them when you enter the Membership module. You can also set up personal reminders, such as for tasks you don’t want to forget about. The Reminders tool stores information by user, so each user can set up different reminders that appear only to them.
Setting Reminders
Here is how to set a reminder:
- Open the Membership module.
- In the top menu, navigate to “Tools” > “Reminders”.
- Check the boxes of the events you would like to be reminded of. To set up a personal reminder, check “Turn on” and type in what you would like to be reminded of.
- Set the number of days before the event to receive a reminder.
- If needed, check “Repeat the reminder until the event”. If this box is checked, the reminder notification will also include events that will occur before the event you chose to be reminded of. For example, if you want to be reminded daily of a scheduled visit three days from now, and a baptism is scheduled for two days from now, the daily reminder notification will list both the baptism and the scheduled visit.
- When you are done, click “OK”.
Using Reminders to Create Subgroups
You can also use the Reminders tool to create static subgroups. These subgroups can then be used to create reports.
Here is how to use the Reminders tool to create a subgroup:
- Open the Membership module.
- In the top menu, navigate to “Tools” > “Reminders”.
- Click on the tab for the type of reminder you are creating the subgroup around.
- Click the subgroup button in the bottom right corner to create a static subgroup containing the individuals listed on the tab.
