Each member of a congregation has significant life events that many churches document in a register book. In the Shepherd’s Staff 2020 Membership module, these events are recorded and accessed all in one place.
The Church Register tab in Membership has five main life events, a custom event, and lists of the church’s clergy, officers, and historical events.
Note: If Church Register is selected from the Reports tab of Membership, Shepherd’s Staff will redirect you to the Church Register tab.
Weddings
This register has information on your congregant’s wedding days and anniversaries. You have the option to include the officiant, location of the wedding, marriage license number, return dates, and names of up to two witnesses.
Funerals
This section lists members and non-members that have passed away. You can include the officiant, location of the funeral, date of death, and whether they were a member.
Baptisms
This area keeps the dates of your church’s baptisms. You can include the officiant, location, and up to two sponsors.
Confirmations
This keeps the dates of your congregation’s confirmations. You can include the officiant and location. You can change the header for this section in Tools/Settings by checking the Customize field names and changing the Confirmation field.
First Communion
This section holds the dates of those who have had their first communion. You can include the officiant of the communion ceremony. You can change the header for this section in Tools/Settings by checking Customize field names and changing the First Communion field.
User-defined 3
Shepherd’s Staff allows for a section that can be used for any extra life event you might want to document. You can change the header for this section in Tools/Settings by checking Customize field names and changing the User-defined 3 field.
Ministers/Clergy
This is where the church ministers and clergy are listed. This view includes the minister or clergy’s personal information as well as their previous and next ministries.
Officers
This is where the church officers are listed. This view includes the officer’s personal information and the beginning and end of their officer status.
Historical events
This section allows Shepherd’s Staff to document events relevant to the church’s history. You can include the location, officiant, and a headcount of visitors and non-visitors.
